This is a flash video of our repair procedures.

The first step in the repair process, is marking the holes and seams that need repair. For this we use round, not square patches to minimize added weight. The second step in the repair process, is the most important step. It is one thing that far too many people forget. We thoroughly wash the area to be patched in a chemical solution. These clean areas make for a better seal on the patch. In our repairs there are absolutely no adhesives used. D-rings, grommets, and sewing are all checked for wear. Missing d-rings and d-rings with faulty seat-belting are replaced in their original locations. Missing grommets are also replaced. For larger worn out sections, a single large patch is used. As always the area is thoroughly cleaned to ensure a good seal. Only the edge of this patch is welded to the original tarp. This is so that the worn section can be removed later to eliminate any extra weight from being added. Once the welding is done the section is sewn around the edge to ensure this section will remain in place. If needed the belts and d-rings are replaced. A couple of inches are left at the edge so that the hem may be re-sewn. Once this is complete, the tarp is turned over. The old, worn out section is cut out and discarded. The sewing around the new section is checked once again. These large patches don't add extra weight and reduce the need to replace the entire tarp. Only a fraction of the tarp is replaced at a fraction of the cost. At Dr. Tarp Northern, quality is our number one priority. That's why, all of our employees go through a rigorous training program. This program lasts approximately 6-8 months. During this time employees are constantly supervised. Anything and everything is checked from their marking of the tarps, to their patching, and even their sewing and replacing of belts.
